I have been in the accounting field for 12 years and have a Master's Degree in Accounting from Liberty University and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Rio Grande.

Most recently, I have worked as an assistant controller for an industrial machinery repair company, but I have also worked for a non-profit as the finance supervisor, and spent a few years as an auditor. I have also been my church's treasurer for the past 8 years and teach Middle School Sunday School.

I grew up in Vinton County, graduated in 2005, and moved to Chillicothe in 2011 where I live with my husband and two boys, Miles (11) and Aiden (9).

My Why - 

I opened this business because I was tired of running around trying to be a great mom and a great employee, and just great everything and yet I still felt like I was failing. I had a wake up call when I was driving home one day feeling absolutely defeated and I just thought, "What am I doing? This is NOT what I've been called to do." So after talking with my husband, Chris, and my sister, Shana, we decided it was time! Time to FINALLY open the bookkeeping business I wanted to start way back when Miles was born. And here we are, First Capital Bookkeeping!
